John Phillip Sabou MSc., PhD.

Centre for Terrorism & Counterterrorism



John Sabou is a Ph.D. Candidate at Leiden University Centre for Terrorism and Counterterrorism (CTC) in the Hague. His work involves research oriented in the development of integral governance frameworks for crisis and security network management and disaster mitigation. His field of expertise stems from previous work in terrorism and warfare anthropology.

In 2012, John graduated with a MSc in Terrorism & Warfare studies from San Diego State University. He wrote his thesis on the guerrilla warfighting networks of Czechoslovakia during German occupation 1939-1945, and has been involved in work relating to various forms of human relationships and social networking in crisis and security themes.


As a member of Leiden’s academic community, John’s work contributes to the Network for Information Technology and Innovation Management Consortium (NITIM), on interests that focus on social networking paradigms and human relationship dynamics for the purpose of strengthening existing digital technologies and best practices that will improve community resilience to natural and synthetic crises.
